SWISS GOV'T TELLS NIGERIA: NO MORE ABACHA LOOT IN OUR BANKS

The Swiss Government yesterday made the people of Nigeria to understand that they have returned about $700 million that was looted or traced to the then military Head of State, Late Sani Abacha.

This was made known through their ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. Hans-Rudolf Hodel during a press briefing in Abuja ahead of a two-day seminar on Anti-money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism.

He added that his government is ready to re-open the case if Nigeria presents a fresh case of any money still being held in Swiss banks in respect to the late Head of State. Dr. Hodel said his country derives no joy in holding back illicit money in her banks.

My question here now is,

1. Have we been given a breakdown on how this recovered sum of money has been used?
2. ASUU has been on strike for many months now because of money (even leading to the death of Prof. Festus Kayamu, may his soul rest in peace), what if this money is directed to ASUU, would it not help bring back the warring lecturers to school?

Please, lets share our views, ideas and contributions here...
