The Government of Nigeria gave their reasons for embarking on this as, we have reached a decision to streamline government agencies and also reduce the cost of governance.
As such, JAMB will be remodeled in line with a body in the USA which set standards or admission into tertiary institutions.
As for NECO, it will forfeit its license to conduct any examination in the country as its functions will be performed by WAEC.
From the above, as I can see, JAMB will no longer conduct examinations but will be a "Clearing House". This means JAMB will be monitoring universities as they set standards for admission into them...
NOW, my question: Is it not still waste of money paying JAMB staffs who do nothing but to monitor standards of universities? Of what economic benefit will JAMB be to the country if this move is eventually taken?
