REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO FORMAT YOUR BLACKBERRY

BlackBerry is a smartphone that is on the rise now that everyone wants to own these days and as such people do not mind using a pin someone has used before, as far as they are in possession of one, they are okay. One would not say that it is bad to give or sell your used property, but to be on the safer side, it is advisable that you do a strong reset on the smartphone before letting it go.

As such, it is very very important that you format your Blackberry before handing it over. In case you have forgotten how to go about it, quickly visit HOW TO FORMAT MY BB to get it done all by yourself.

REASONS WHY YOU NEED TO DO A FORMAT

  1. If you want to sell your used BlackBerry to someone, may be, because you no longer need it or you want to upgrade,
  2. You are handing it over to a loved one, either your younger one or friend,
  3. You are packing it for a long time and you don't want someone to stumble on it and misuse your information:
  • Your information on the phone ought to be personal. Whoever you are giving your phone to, whether you are selling it or giving it out as a gift, your personal information has to be erased from the device, irrespective of who the person is to you.
Information that you can't afford to leave behind include:
  1. your contact list. Back up your smartphone before erasing any contact so that you don't regret later for doing so.
  2. your messages, whether inbox,  outbox or sent-box. Whatever name it is called, though that is not common with blackberries, you must keep it clean, because that houses your most confidential information like bank statements, office business and so on.
  3. personal applications installed on the smartphone. These includes but not limited to all Social networking applications like Facebook, Whatsapp, 2go, Twitter, Badoo and even your BBM contacts list.
  4. and any other thing that is so special to you alone, whether health apps, weather apps or prayer apps.

WHAT TO DO BEFORE FORMATTING YOUR BB

  • Back-up your contacts list, either the one on your phone book or the one you have on your BBM.
  • Remove your memory card and keep it safe.
  • Sign out of every installed application on the phone like Facebook etc
