HOW TO TRANSFER CREDIT ON MTN NETWORK

HOW TO SHARE CREDIT ON MTN NETWORK

In this tutorial we are going to look at a topic which is not very new but has been a problem to many people for as long as possible-It is how to share or transfer credit from one MTN sim or line to the other.

Unlike Airtel, MTN has too distinctive way through which you can transfer credit to a friend's phone and its a little bit complex too. Let's quickly look at them, one after the other.

STEP ONE:

USING THE USSD METHOD:
This method involves you, using the recharge card loading pattern of * and #.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
  • Your phone with the required amount you want to send
  • Your old/default pin <0000>
  • The recipient's number.
PROCEDURE:
First, you have to change your default pin <0000> to a new one if not MTN will not allow you to use the service...for security reasons as to protect your account, Don't you think MTN is customer safety conscious? lol

HOW DO YOU CHANGE IT?
Take your phone and dial:
*601*old pin*new pin*new pin#, that is for example: *601*0000*4321*4321#>>>>> press your send/ok/yes/green key and wait for a confirmation message from MTN. When you have received it, we move to the next level.

HOW TO START THE SHARING CREDITS PROCESS:

Assuming you have received the confirmation message, proceed to this level:
Type: *600*recipient's number*amount*pin#, Press the send button and check your account balance or wait for confirmation message. This comes almost immediately if the network is good.
Example: *600*080379733xx*200*4321# sand SEND. Note: assuming we changed the pin to 4321...Also note that MTN does not CHARGE you for credit transfer unlike Airtel

STEP 2

Assuming you have already changed your pin in step one, let us quickly go through step two.
Open your message and create a new message. There type the following and send it to 777.
Transfer()phone no.()amount()pin. ()stands for space
Example: Transfer 080379733xx 200 4321, send to 777.
After that, create another message and type YES and send to 777.
NOTE: The minimum you can transfer is #50

Of all these steps, I think step one is more easier to me. What is your view and opinion? Share it with us, using the comment box below.
